     Alexander Makgill was born on 20 July 1600.1 He was the son of David Makgill and Mary Sinclair.2 He died circa 1677, without surviving male issue.1

     Elizabeth Makgill is the daughter of David Makgill and Mary Sinclair.2 A contract for the marriage of Elizabeth Makgill and James Cranstoun, Master of Cranstoun was signed on 10 July 1612.1
     From 10 July 1612, her married name became Cranstoun.1
