     Sholto Charles John Hay Douglas, 20th Earl of Morton was born on 12 April 1907.1 He was the son of Sholto Charles Douglas, Lord Aberdour and Minnie Christina Brenda Hay.1 He died on 13 February 1976 at age 68, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 20th Earl of Morton [S., 1458] on 8 October 1935.1 He graduated from Magdalen College School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1936 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was appointed Fellow, Linnean Society (F.L.S.)1 He was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Victoria Medal of Honour in 1967.1
