     Richard Chartres was born in 1759.3 He is the son of Reverend William Chartres and Mary Giles.2 He married Elizabeth Carew, daughter of Thomas Carew and Eliza Ricarda May.1 He died in 1808,.3
     Richard Chartres graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).3 He lived at Granitefield, County Dublin, Ireland.3 He lived at Kilworth, County Cork, Ireland.3

     Robert Shapland Carew was born on 25 August 1777.1 He was the son of Robert Thomas Carew and Frances Boyse.2 He died in June 1813 at age 35 at Vitoria, Spain, killed in action.1
     Robert Shapland Carew gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 18th Hussars.1 He fought in the Battle of Vitoria in June 1813.1
