     Very Rev. James Mahon was born on 20 April 1774.1 He was the son of Ross Mahon and Lady Anne Browne.2 He married Frances Catherine Ker, daughter of David Ker, on 1 October 1812.1 He died on 20 March 1837 at age 62.1
     He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1793 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was admitted to Irish Bar in 1795.1 He held the office of Dean of Tuam between 1807 and 1809.1 He held the office of Dean of Dromore between 1809 and 1837.1
