Francis Carleton was born on 6 August 1780.1 He was the son of John Carleton and Elizabeth Hodgson.2 He married Charlotte Margaretta Molyneux-Montgomerie, daughter of George Molyneux-Montgomerie, on 9 September 1809.1 He died on 26 January 1870 at age 89.1
