     Robert Charles Edgcumbe, 8th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe was born on 1 June 1939. He is the son of George Aubrey Valletort Edgcombe and Meta Lhoyer. He married Joan Ivy Wall, daughter of Ernest Wall, in 1960. He and Joan Ivy Wall were divorced in 1988.
     Robert Charles Edgcumbe, 8th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe gained the title of 8th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe.

     Richard Valletort Edgcumbe was born on 13 January 1936. He was the son of George Aubrey Valletort Edgcombe and Meta Lhoyer. He died in May 1943 at age 7.

     Meta Lhoyer is the daughter of Charles Robert Lhoyer. She married George Aubrey Valletort Edgcombe, son of George Valletort Edgcumbe and Georgina Mildred Bell, on 6 April 1935. She and George Aubrey Valletort Edgcombe were divorced in 1943.
     Her married name became Edgcombe.

     Elizabeth Katherine Edgcumbe was the daughter of Hon. George Edgcumbe and Fanny Lucy Shelley. She married Colonel Albert Thornton-Wodehouse, son of Admiral Edward Wodehouse and Thornvilla Diana Thornton, on 1 July 1874. She died on 5 October 1918.
     Her married name became Thornton-Wodehouse.
