     John Smith Chartres was born in 1828.1 He was the son of Richard Chartres and Jane Christian Smith.2 He married Margaret Henry, daughter of James Henry, in 1858.1 He died in 1875.1
     He gained the rank of Surgeon-Major in the service of the 8th Hussars.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).1

     John Chartres was born in 1862.2 He was the son of John Smith Chartres and Margaret Henry.3,1 He married Annie Vivanti, daughter of Anselmo Vivanti and Annie Lindau.1 He died in 1927.2
     He was decorated with the award of the Powell Prizeman in Common Law.1 He was admitted to Middle Temple entitled to practice as a Barrister-at-Law.1 He was Chief of Intelligence, War Office.1 In 1921 he drafted the Irish section of the Treaty of 1921.1 He was Secretary of the Sinn Fein Delegation to London in 1921.1 He lived at London, England.1 He lived at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1

     Vivien Chartres was born on 25 June 1893 at Turin, Italy.2 She was the daughter of John Chartres and Annie Vivanti.3 She married, firstly, Arthur Lindsay Burns.2 She married, secondly, Sir Richard C. R. Young on 25 August 1927 at St. Thomas's Church, London, England.2 She died on 1 September 1941 at age 48 at Gwydr Mansions, Hove, Sussex, England.1,2
      Her married name became Burns.2 She was a child prodigy violinist.1 From 25 August 1927, her married name became Young.2

     Richard Carew Chartres was born on 10 October 1870.1 He was the son of Richard Carew Chartres and Harriette Isabel Haire.2 He married Anne Grace Waring, daughter of John Waring, on 11 January 1910.1 He died on 29 October 1929 at age 59.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Horse Artillery.1 He lived at Dulwich, London, England.1
