     Charles Neville Clarke was born on 19 January 1866.1 He was the son of Marshal Neville Clarke and Mary Elizabeth Pearson.2 He married Bertha Cross, daughter of John Kynaston Cross, on 5 February 1896.1 He died on 26 April 1942 at age 76 at Bath, Somerset, England, killed by enemy action.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1887 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tipperary in 1891.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tipperary.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tipperary.1 He lived at Graiguenoe Park, Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland, which was detroyed by fire in 1923.1 He lived at Little Ormsby Hall, Norfolk, England.1
