     Hugh Massy Westropp was born on 23 May 1847.2 He was the son of John Westropp and Georgina Wilhelmina Stamer.2 He married, firstly, Helena Westropp, daughter of Reverend Thomas Westropp and Helena Gabbett, on 3 March 1869.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Jane Stacpoole, daughter of William Stacpoole and Catherine O'Connor, on 13 April 1885.1 He died on 12 July 1909 at age 62.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Clare.2 He lived at Park House, Clonlara, County Westmeath, Ireland.1
