     Sir John Fisher Wentworth Dilke, 5th Bt. was born on 8 May 1906.1 He was the son of Sir Fisher Wentworth Dilke, 4th Bt. and Ethel Clifford.2 He married, firstly, Sheila Seeds, daughter of Sir William Seeds and Arabella Agnes Muriel Butler, on 15 September 1934.1 He and Sheila Seeds were divorced in 1949.1 He married, secondly, Iris Evelyn Clark, daughter of Ernest Clark, on 28 December 1951.1 He died on 28 June 1998 at age 92.1
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was with the Foreign Service between 1929 and 1932.1 He was with The Times Foreign Department. Government Information Services and BBC External Service.1 He was Head of the British Official Wireless News between 1942 and 1945.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Dilke, of Sloane Street, Chelsea [U.K., 1862] on 25 March 1944.1
