     Hon. James William Best was born on 3 May 1882.2 He is the son of Lt.-Col. George Best, 5th Baron Wynford and Edith Anne Marsh.2 He married Florence Mary Bernarda Lees, daughter of Sir Elliott Lees, 1st Bt. and Florence Keith, on 11 August 1914.2 He died on 16 July 1960 at age 78.2
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Cooper's Hill Engineering College.2 He was with the India Forest Service.2 He was Captain, Auxiliary Force India.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.2 He was Verderer of the New Forest.2 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.D.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.2 He lived at Hincknowle, Melplash, Dorset, EnglandG.1

     Alice Mary Best was born on 19 August 1919.2 She was the daughter of Hon. James William Best and Florence Mary Bernarda Lees.2 She married Christopher Wentworth Dilke, son of Sir Fisher Wentworth Dilke, 4th Bt. and Ethel Clifford, on 15 August 1939.1 She died on 4 March 2016 at age 96.3
     From 15 August 1939, her married name became Dilke. She lived in 2003 at Valehouse Farm, Whitchurch Canonicorum, Bridport, Dorset, EnglandG.1
