     Richard St. John St. Leger, 9th Viscount Doneraile was born on 29 October 1923.1 He was the son of Algernon Edward St. Leger, 8th Viscount Doneraile and Sylvia Stephenson Mitchell.2 He married Melva Jean Clifton, daughter of George W. Clifton, in 1945.1 He died in 1983.1
     Richard St. John St. Leger, 9th Viscount Doneraile succeeded to the title of 9th Baron Doneraile, of Doneraile, co. Cork [I., 1776] on 18 November 1957.1 He succeeded to the title of 9th Viscount Doneraile, of Doneraile, co. Cork [I., 1785] on 18 November 1957.1
