     Adam Blackwood was born in 1539 at Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.1 He was the son of William Blackwood and unknown wife Reid.2 He married Catherine Courtinier, daughter of unknown Courtinier.1 He died in 1613.1
      In 1558 he returned briefly to Scotland on his great-uncle Bishop Reid's death but was soon back in Paris.1 He was educated at Paris University, Paris, France.1 He enjoyed the patronage of Mary Queen of Scots, married to the Dauphin of France.1 He published several works in praise of the Queen, who arranged his appointment as Judge of the Parlement of Poitiers.1 He was Judge of the Parlement of Poitiers.1 He had four sons and seven daughters.1

     Henry Blackwood was born at Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.1 He was the son of William Blackwood and unknown wife Reid.2 He died in 1614.1
     He was educated at Paris University, Paris, France.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).1 He was an instructor in philosophy circa 1551.1 He was registered as a Member of the College of Physicians, Paris.1 He was Dean of the Medical Faculty at Paris University, Paris, France.1 He was editor of a commentary on the works of Aristotle and other medical writings.1 He was author of manuscripts on the teachings of the ancient medical writers Galen, Hippocrates and Alexander Tralles, as well as Pliny the Elder.1

     Marie Thérèse de Blacvod is the daughter of Simon Xavier de Blacvod, Seigneur des Frozes.1 She married Jean Philippe Bellin de la Bontadière, Seigneur des Côtes in 1776.1
      The last descendant of the French line d without issue in the late 19th century.1 From 1776, her married name became Bellin de la Bontadière.
