Lt.-Col. Hon. Esmé Stuart Erskine was born in 1789.1 He was the son of Thomas Erskine, 1st Baron Erskine of Restormel Castle and Frances Moore.1 He married Eliza Bland Smith, daughter of Lt.-Col. unknown Smith, in 1809.1 He died on 26 August 1817, at sea.2
He was Deputy Adjutant-General.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo on 16 June 1815, where he lost an arm.1
