     William Sutherland of Duffus was the son of William Sutherland of Berriedale.2 He married Janet Innes, daughter of Berowald Innes, on 22 July 1484.1 He died in 1514.1
     In 1484 he succeeded to Quarrelwood.1 In 1507 he had a charter of Duffus.1

     Janet Innes is the daughter of Berowald Innes.1 She married, firstly, William Sutherland of Duffus, son of William Sutherland of Berriedale, on 22 July 1484.1 She married, secondly, Hugh Rose, 7th of Kilravock, son of Hugh Rose, 6th of Kilvarock and Isabel Sutherland, circa 1517.1
     From 22 July 1484, her married name became Sutherland. From circa 1517, her married name became Rose.1
