     Colonel Hon. James Hay Fraser was born on 24 March 1833.2 He was the son of Hon. William Fraser and Elizabeth Graham Macdowall-Grant.1 He married Marion Stirling Dundas, daughter of John Dundas and Jemima Christian Macdowall, on 10 August 1864.2 He died on 24 March 1866 at age 33.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Bengal Staff Corps.1
