     John George Beresford Massy-Beresford was born on 7 February 1856.1 He was the son of Very Rev. John Maunsell Massy-Beresford and Emily Sarah Beresford.2 He married Hon. Alice Elizabeth Mulholland, daughter of John Mulholland, 1st Baron Dunleath of Ballywalter and Frances Louisa Lyle, on 22 November 1892.3 He died on 25 July 1923 at age 67.3
     John George Beresford Massy-Beresford gained the rank of Captain between 1880 and 1887 in the service of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry.1 He held the office of High Sheriff in 1900.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Fermanagh.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Peebles-shire.1 He lived at St. Hubert's, County Fermanagh, Ireland.1 He was with the British Red Cross in France during the First World War.1
