     Sir John Elphinstone of that Ilk was the son of Alexander Elphinstone.2 He married Margaret Seton, daughter of Sir Christopher Seton of that Ilk and Lady Christina Bruce.1 He died circa 1338.1
      He held the lands of Elphinstone, Lothian, from Sir Alexander Seton of that Ilk.1

     Sir William Elphinstone of that Ilk is the son of Alexander Elphinstone of that Ilk and Agnes Airth.2
      In 1399 he was granted a charter of lands he held from Sir William Lindsay of the Byres in favour of himself and the heirs male of his body, with remainder to his brothers.1
