     He was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1928 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor of New South Wales between 1937 and 1938.1 He fought in the Second World War in 1939, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Group Captain in the Royal Australian Air Force.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1944.1 He graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1950 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.)
