     John Frederick La Trobe-Bateman was born on 30 May 1810 at Lower Wyke, Birstall, Yorkshire, EnglandG.3,4 He was the son of John Frederick Bateman and Mary Agnes La Trobe.4 He married Anne Fairbairn, daughter of Sir William Fairbairn, 1st Bt. and Dorothy Mar, on 1 September 1841.1 He died on 10 June 1889 at age 79 at Moor Park, Farnham, Hampshire, EnglandG.4
     He was given the name of John Frederick Bateman at birth.5 He was a civil engineer.5 He lived in 1881 at St. Margaret, London, EnglandG.3,4 In 1883 his name was legally changed to John Frederick La Trobe-Bateman.5 He wrote the book History and Description of the Manchester Waterworks, published 1884.5 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He lived at Moor Park, Surrey, EnglandG.1

     Allison Callaway was the daughter of Thomas Callaway.2 She married Sir Thomas Fairbairn, 2nd Bt., son of Sir William Fairbairn, 1st Bt. and Dorothy Mar, on 23 March 1848.1 She died on 8 February 1907.1
     From 23 March 1848, her married name became Fairbairn.

     Sir Thomas Gordon Fairbairn, 4th Bt. was born on 26 May 1854.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Fairbairn, 2nd Bt. and Allison Callaway.2 He married, firstly, Ada Maria Fairbairn, daughter of William Andrew Fairbairn and Marianne Murray, on 18 July 1877.1 He married, secondly, Jennie Cora Davies, daughter of Albert Davies, on 12 April 1899.1 He died on 19 December 1931 at age 77.1
     He graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Fairbairn, of Ardwick, Lancashire [U.K., 1869] on 2 June 1915.1
