Hon. Eric Brand Butler-Henderson1

     Hon. Eric Brand Butler-Henderson was born on 26 September 1884.1 He was the son of Alexander Henderson, 1st Baron Faringdon and Jane Ellen Davis.2 He married Hon. Sophia Isabelle Butler Massey, daughter of Lionel Edward Massey, 5th Baron Clarina of Elm Park and Sophia Mary Butler, on 10 December 1910.1 He died on 18 December 1953 at age 69.1
     He was given the name of Eric Brand Henderson at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 On 21 December 1910 his name was legally changed to Eric Brand Butler-Henderson by Deed Poll.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Berkshire Yeomanry.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1929.1 He was invested as a Companion, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.).1

     Hon. Sophia Isabelle Butler Massey was born on 29 May 1888.2 She was the daughter of Lionel Edward Massey, 5th Baron Clarina of Elm Park and Sophia Mary Butler.3,2 She married Hon. Eric Brand Butler-Henderson, son of Alexander Henderson, 1st Baron Faringdon and Jane Ellen Davis, on 10 December 1910.1 She died in 1977.
      Hon. Sophia Isabelle Butler Massey also went by the nick-name of Zoe.1 From 10 December 1910, her married name became Butler-Henderson.

     Lionel Butler-Henderson was born on 8 November 1911.1 He was the son of Hon. Eric Brand Butler-Henderson and Hon. Sophia Isabelle Butler Massey.2 He married Una Fenwick, daughter of Guy Fenwick, on 25 November 1936.1 He died on 1 July 1961 at age 49.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Artillery (Territorial Army).1 He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).1
