     Sir Arthur Forbes of Craigievar, 4th Bt. was born in 1709.1 He was the son of Sir William Forbes of Craigievar, 3rd Bt. and Margaret Rose.2 He married, firstly, Christian Ross, daughter of unknown Ross of Arnage, in 1729.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Strachan, daughter of unknown Strachan of Balgall, in 1750.1 He died on 1 January 1773.3
     He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Forbes, of Craigievar [N.S., 1630] circa 1730.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Aberdeenshire between 1732 and 1747.1
