     Duncan Forbes-Mitchell of Thainstone was born on 26 March 1757.1 He was the son of Sir Arthur Forbes of Craigievar, 4th Bt. and Margaret Strachan.2 He married Katherine Ann Fraser, daughter of William Fraser of Fraserfield, on 27 March 1777.1 He died on 6 October 1796 at age 39.1
