     William Wentworth, 2nd Earl of Straffod was the son of Thomas Wentworth, 1st Earl of Straffod and Lady Arabella Holles.1 He married, firstly, Lady Henrietta Maria Stanley, daughter of James Stanley, 7th Earl of Derby and Charlotte de la Trémoille.3 He married, secondly, Henrietta da la Rochefoucauld, daughter of Frederick Charles de Roy da la Rochefoucauld.3 He died in October 1695, without issue.1
     He gained the title of 2nd Earl of Strafford.
