     Johann I Graf zu Sayn in Hachenburg was the son of Gottfried I Graf von Sponheim-Starkenburg und Sayn and Jutta von Isenburg.1 He married, firstly, Elisabeth von Hessen, daughter of Heinrich I Landgraf von Hessen and Adelheid von Braunschweig-Lüneburg, circa 1287. He married, secondly, Kunigunde Neuerburg-Kobern in 1297.1 He died in 1324.

She married, secondly, Bernhard II Graf von Anhalt-Bernburg, son of Bernhard I Prinz von Anhalt-Bernburg and Sophie Abelsdottir, circa 1290. She died in 1315.
