     Katherine de Burgh was the daughter of Richard de Burgh, 2nd Earl of Ulster and Margaret de Burgh.1 She married Sir Maurice FitzThomas FitzGerald, 1st Earl of Desmond, son of Thomas FitzMaurice and Margaret de Berkeley, on 5 August 1312 at Green Castle, County Down, Ireland.1,2 She died circa 1 November 1331 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.3
     From 5 August 1312, her married name became FitzGerald.1
