     Andrew Duff Tennant was born on 17 June 1928.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. John Edward Tennant and Victoria Maud Veronica Duff.1 He married Lucinda Evelyn James, daughter of Arthur Walter James and Mary Charlesworth, on 22 July 1953.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of officer between 1945 and 1948 in the service of the Scots Guards.1 He lived in 2003 at Muiresk House, Turriff, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1

      From 4 August 1913, her married name became Mercer. From 11 August 1922, her married name became Birley.1
