He married Antonella Newland, daughter of Maj.-Gen. James Church before 1954.1 She married, secondly, George Victor Robert John Innes-Ker, 9th Duke of Roxburghe, son of Henry John Innes-Ker, 8th Duke of Roxburghe and Mary Goelet, on 5 January 1954.1 She married, thirdly, Jocelyn Olaf Hambro, son of Ronald Olaf Hambro and Winifred Emily Ridley-Smith, in 1976.1 She died in 1983.1
     Margaret Elisabeth McConnel usually went by her middle name of Elisabeth.4 From before 1954, her married name became Church.1 Her married name became Innes-Ker. From 1976, her married name became Hambro.
