     Lt.-Col. George St. John Armitage Dyson was born in 1893 at Kirkburton, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of Thomas James Dyson and Julia Ethel Armitage.1 He married Mona (?).1 He died on 22 November 1942 at Korea.1
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 122nd (West Riding) Field Regiment, Malaya Command Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War, where be was captured by the Japanese and became a POW.1
