     Colonel Charles John Birch Harris was born on 7 November 1840.¹ He was the son of George Anstruther Harris and Fanny Gahagan.² He married Florence Archer, daughter of Thomas Goodwyn Archer, on 8 December 1874.¹ He died on 22 December 1892 at age 52, with two other sons (died young unmarried):.¹
