     Sir Thomas Gibson of Keirhill, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir John Gibson of Pentland and Addistone and unknown wife (?)2 He married Jean Marjoribanks, daughter of Edward Marjoribanks and Agnes Murray, on 11 June 1701.1 He died in 1713.1
     He purchased the estate of King's Cramond, Midlothian in 1694.1 He purchased Keirhill in 1697.1 He sold the estate of King's Cramond, Midlothian in 1697.1 He was created 1st Baronet Gibson, of Keirhill, Midlothian [Nova Scotia] on 31 December 1702, with remainder to his heirs male whatsoever.1

     Jean Marjoribanks was the daughter of Edward Marjoribanks and Agnes Murray.1,2 She married, firstly, Sir Thomas Gibson of Keirhill, 1st Bt., son of Sir John Gibson of Pentland and Addistone and unknown wife (?), on 11 June 1701.1 She married, secondly, Reverend George Arbuthnot on 22 June 1718.1 She died on 13 February 1724.1
     From 11 June 1701, her married name became Gibson.1 From 22 June 1718, her married name became Arbuthnot.1
