     James Henderson was born on 3 February 1618.1 He was the son of Sir John Henderson, 4th of Fordell and Anna Halkat.2 He died in May 1644 at age 26, on active service.1
     He gained the rank of Captain on 30 December 1639 in the service of the Dutch service.1
