Lucy Elizabeth Hemmant is the daughter of William Hemmant and Lucy Ground.1 She married Sir James Richard Atkin, Baron Atkin, son of Robert Travers Atkin and Mary Elizabeth Ruck, on 16 May 1893 at Sevenoaks, Kent, England.1
From 16 May 1893, her married name became Atkin.1 As a result of her marriage, Lucy Elizabeth Hemmant was styled as Baroness Atkin on 6 February 1928.
