Major George Edward Shelley was born on 2 February 1891.1 He is the son of George Ernest Shelley and Janet Andrewes.1 He married, firstly, Cicely Alice Colquhoun Bosanquet, daughter of Lt.-Col. Lionel Arthur Bosanquet, on 8 December 1920.1 He and Cicely Alice Colquhoun Bosanquet were divorced in 1935.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Lucy Gwen Atkin, daughter of James Richard Atkin, Baron Atkin and Lucy Elizabeth Hemmant, on 6 July 1935.2 He and Hon. Lucy Gwen Atkin were divorced in 1941.1 He married, thirdly, Freda Victoria Jefferey, daughter of Frederick Lincoln Jefferey, on 28 July 1951.1 He died on 7 November 1961 at age 70.1
