     Sir Thomas Leighton was born in 1454.2 He was the son of John Leighton and Ankaret Burgh.2 He married Elizabeth Devereux, daughter of Sir Walter Devereux, 1st Lord Ferrers (of Chartley) and Anne Ferrers.1 He died in 1541.3
     He held the office of Sheriff of Shropshire in 1495.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shropshire.2 He was a Knight of Body to King Henry VII.2 He was member of the Court of Marches of Wales.2 He fought in the Battle of Tournai in 1513.2 He fought in the hostilities between Brittany and France.2 He was appointed Knight in 1513 following the Battle of Tournai.2

     From 10 August 1915, her married name became Kerans.1
