     Sir Rowland Frederic William Hodge, 1st Bt. was born on 15 September 1859.1 He was the son of John Rowland Hodge and Emily Davis.2 He married, firstly, Mabel Thorpe, daughter of William Edward Thorpe, on 28 March 1895.1 He married, secondly, Vera Fraser, daughter of John Fraser, on 30 September 1930.1 He died on 21 September 1950 at age 91.1
     He was founder of Northumberland Shipbuilding Company.1 He was created 1st Baronet Hodge, of Chipstead, co. Kent [U.K.] on 3 March 1921.1 He was chairman of Eltringham's.1
