     James Thornton was the son of John Thornton.² He married Lilian Jane Hobhouse, daughter of Sir Charles Parry Hobhouse, 3rd Bt. and Anna Maria Sawers, on 17 January 1900.¹ He died on 31 March 1939.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹

     Mary Fitzroy Hobhouse was born on 6 June 1871.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Charles Parry Hobhouse, 3rd Bt. and Anna Maria Sawers.² She married Major Hugh Cochrane Mactier, son of Robert Ferguson MacTier and Anne Stewart Cochrane, on 18 April 1900.¹ She died on 25 October 1943 at age 72.¹
      From 18 April 1900, her married name became MacTier.³

     Major Hugh Cochrane Mactier was born between 1863 and 1864 at Bombay, India.² He was the son of Robert Ferguson MacTier and Anne Stewart Cochrane.² He married Mary Fitzroy Hobhouse, daughter of Sir Charles Parry Hobhouse, 3rd Bt. and Anna Maria Sawers, on 18 April 1900.¹ He died on 19 May 1940.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Hampshire Regiment.¹

     Ina Millicent Hobhouse was born on 17 May 1873.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Charles Parry Hobhouse, 3rd Bt. and Anna Maria Sawers.² She died on 16 September 1947 at age 74, unmarried.¹

     Annie Violet Hobhouse was born on 8 May 1875.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Charles Parry Hobhouse, 3rd Bt. and Anna Maria Sawers.² She died on 16 September 1903 at age 28, unmarried.¹

     Frederick Spencer lived at Somerset, England.¹

     Marjorie Chisholm Spencer was born circa 1878.¹ She was the daughter of Frederick Spencer.² She married Sir Reginald Arthur Hobhouse, 5th Bt., son of Sir Charles Parry Hobhouse, 3rd Bt. and Anna Maria Sawers, on 26 April 1905.¹ She died on 18 March 1967.¹
      From 26 April 1905, her married name became Hobhouse. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹

     Sir Charles Chisholm Hobhouse, 6th Bt. was born on 7 December 1906.¹ He was the son of Sir Reginald Arthur Hobhouse, 5th Bt. and Marjorie Chisholm Spencer.² He married, firstly, Mary Park, daughter of John Park, on 27 November 1946.¹ He married, secondly, Elspeth Jean Spinney, daughter of Thomas George Spinney, on 18 July 1959.¹ He died in 1991.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was commissioned in 1927.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1940.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).¹ He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Hobhouse, of Broughton-Gifford, Bradford-on-Avon, and Monkton Farleigh, co. Wilts [U.K., 1812] on 9 July 1947.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the service of the North Somerset Yeomanry (TA).¹

     John Spencer Hobhouse was born on 15 November 1910.¹ He was the son of Sir Reginald Arthur Hobhouse, 5th Bt. and Marjorie Chisholm Spencer.² He married Mary Roberts, daughter of Dr. Llewelyn Roberts, on 29 May 1940.¹ He died on 24 December 2009 at age 99.³
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the service of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Air Force Cross (A.F.C.).¹ He lived in 2003 at Farleigh Court, Farleigh Hungerford, Somerset, England.¹
