     Robert Lauder of The Bass was born circa 1444.2,3 He was the son of Robert Lauder of the Bass and Jonet Home.2 He married Isobel Hay, daughter of John Hay, 1st Lord Hay of Yester and Elizabeth Cunningham, before 1480.1 He died circa January 1508.2
     He held the office of Governor of Berwick-upon-Tweed Castle.2
