Thomas John Monson was born on 10 May 1764.1 He was the son of John Monson, 2nd Baron Monson of Burton and Theodosia Maddison.1 He married, firstly, Anne Shipley Greene, daughter of Joseph Greene, on 29 July 1790.1 He married, secondly, Sarah Wyvill, daughter of Reverend Christopher Wyvill, on 11 August 1824.1 He died on 3 April 1843 at age 78.1
     He was Rector at Bedale, Yorkshire, England.1
