     Marcus Hughes was born on 27 July 1821.1 He was the son of Rev. Sir Thomas Collingwood Hughes, 8th Bt. and Elizabeth St. John Butcher.2 He died on 30 July 1846 at age 25 at India, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 63rd Regiment.1

Sir Thomas Collingwood Hughes, 8th Bt. and Elizabeth St. John Butcher.2 He married Frances Eleanor Pemberton, daughter of Christopher Robert Pemberton, on 24 October 1857.1 He died on 1 November 1863 at age 41.1
     He was a Fellow at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1
