     Raymond Patrick Johnson-Ferguson was born on 9 October 1912.1 He was the son of Colonel Sir Edward Alexander James Johnson-Ferguson, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Elsie Dorothea McLaren.2 He married Winifred Clare Edwards, daughter of Colonel Henry Edwards, in 1987.1 He died on 10 September 1997 at age 84, without issue.1
     He was educated at Alderley House School, England.1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry, Royal Artillery (TA).1 He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cumberland in 1958.1

      From 24 January 1931, her married name became Johnson-Ferguson.
