     Colonel William Le Poer Trench was born on 17 June 1837.1 He was the son of William Thomas Le Poer Trench, 3rd Earl of Clancarty and Lady Sarah Juliana Butler.1 He married Harriet Maria Georgina Martins, daughter of Sir William Martins, on 21 April 1864.1 He died on 16 September 1920 at age 83.1
     Colonel William Le Poer Trench fought in the China War between 1857 and 1858, commandign a ladder company at the capture of Canton and Nankow, and was mentioned in despatches.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Galway between 1872 and 1874.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Westminster.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for London.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Buckinghamshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Middlesex.1 He was invested as a Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1912.1
