Sir Francis Gerald William Knowles was born on 9 March 1915.1 He was the son of Francis Howe Seymour Knowles and Kathleen Constance Averina Lennon.2 He married Ruth Jessie Brooke-Smith, daughter of Reverend Arthur Brooke-Smith, on 30 December 1948.1 He died on 13 July 1974 at age 59.1
He was Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.).1 He was also known as 6th Baronet [U.K. Life Peer].1 He graduated in 1936 with a Radley and Oriel College Oxford Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) , Master of Arts (M.A.) and Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil.) 1939).1 In 1938 Head Biology Marlborough , research biologist and lecturer Birmingham U, Prof Anatomy King's College London 1967–74.1 He lived in 2003 at Highfield, The Common, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1
