     He was PA to Dir German Jewish Aid –39, European Intell Officer and European Servs Organiser BBC 1939–42, Press Attaché Moscow 1942–45, freelance writer 1946, ed Frontier 1958–75, author: A History of Russia (1960), Russians Observed (1969), Lawrence of Ctee 1938.1 He graduated with a Eton and New College Oxford Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Lawrence.1 He was Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1945.1 He was Officer Order Orange Nassau in 1950.1 In 1988 married 2nd •Audrey Viola, widow of John Woodiwiss.1
