     He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Legard, of Ganton, co. York [E., 1660] on 10 December 1860.¹

     Sir Darcy Widdrington Legard, 10th Bt. was born on 10 December 1843.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Digby Legard, 8th Bt. and Hon. Frances Duncombe.² He died on 12 April 1866 at age 22 at Rome, Italy, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Legard, of Ganton, co. York [E., 1660] on 5 January 1865.¹

     Sir Charles Legard, 11th Bt. was born on 2 April 1846.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Digby Legard, 8th Bt. and Hon. Frances Duncombe.² He married Frances Emily Hamilton, daughter of Francis Alexander Hamilton, on 30 April 1878.¹ He died on 6 December 1901 at age 55, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Legard, of Ganton, co. York [E., 1660] on 12 April 1866.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Scarborough between 1874 and 1880.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹

     Francis Alexander Hamilton lived at Brent Lodge, Finchley, London, England.¹

     Frances Emily Hamilton was the daughter of Francis Alexander Hamilton.² She married Sir Charles Legard, 11th Bt., son of Sir Thomas Digby Legard, 8th Bt. and Hon. Frances Duncombe, on 30 April 1878.¹ She died on 18 May 1940.¹
     From 30 April 1878, her married name became Legard.
