     Sidney Cowper Philpot was baptised on 21 November 1844 at Canterbury, Kent, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Jonathan Philpot and Hope Cirlin.1 He married, firstly, Ellen Palmer Witherden, daughter of Charlotte Ellen Witherden, on 7 October 1865 at Ramsgate, Kent, EnglandG.1 He married, secondly, Mary Ann Penhall in 1895 at Victoria, Australia.1 He died on 11 June 1912 at age 67 at Moonee Ponds, Victoria, Australia.1 He was buried on 13 June 1912 at Boroondara General Cemetery, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.2

     Admiral Sir Stephen Lushington was born on 12 December 1803.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Lushington, 2nd Bt. and Fanny Maria Lewis.2 He married Henrietta Prescott, daughter of Admiral Sir Henry Prescott and Mary Ann Charlotte d'Auvergne, in 1841.1 He died on 28 May 1877 at age 73.1
     He fought in the Capture of Sebastopol, as commander of a naval brigade on shore.1 He was awarded the Commandeur, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.1
He was awarded the Knight, Order of St. Louis the Redeemer.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)1 He was Superintendant of the Indian Navy.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the South American station.1
