     Colonel Francis William Bullock-Marsham was born on 13 July 1883.1 He was the son of Reverend Cloudesley Dewar Bullock-Marsham and Frances Penelope Marsham.1 He married Finovola Marianne Eleanor Maclean, daughter of Sir Fitzroy Donald Maclean, 10th Bt. and Constance Marianne Ackers, on 19 April 1922.1 He died on 22 December 1971 at age 88.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 3rd Dragoon Guards.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)2 He was Temporary Brigadier of the 1st Cavalry Brigade between 1932 and 1936.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V between 1935 and 1936.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King Edward VIII in 1936.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George VI between 1936 and 1938.1
