     Christian Menteith was the daughter of Sir John Menteith, Lord of Arran and Helen of Mar.1 She married, firstly, Sir Edward Keith of Synton, son of Sir Edward Keith and Isabel de Synton.1 She married, secondly, Sir Robert Erskine of that Ilk, son of Sir William Erskine of that Ilk, in 1352.1 She died circa 1387.1
      Her married name became Keith.1 From 1352, her married name became Erskine.1

     Sir Robert Erskine of that Ilk, 1st Lord Erskine was the son of Sir Thomas Erskine of that Ilk and Janet Keith.2,1 He married Lady Elizabeth Lindsay, daughter of David Lindsay, 1st Earl of Crawford and Elizabeth Stewart, after 20 December 1400.3 He died between 7 September 1451 and 6 November 1452.3
     He succeeded to the title of 13th Earl of Mar [S., c. 1115] before June 1436, de jure.4 He was created 1st Lord Erskine [Scotland] circa 1438.5,6
