She was the daughter of Henry Gerard Sturt, 1st Baron Alington of Crichel and Lady Augusta Bingham.1 She married Charles Hardinge, 1st Baron Hardinge of Penhurst, son of Charles Stewart Hardinge, 2nd Viscount Hardinge of Lahore and Kings Newton and Lady Lavinia Bingham, on 17 April 1890.1 She died on 11 July 1914.1
     Her married name became Hardinge. She was decorated with the award of Kaisar-i-Hind Gold Medal.1 She held the office of Extra Lady of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Alexandra.1 She was decorated with the award of Imperial Order of the Crown of India (C.I.).1 As a result of her marriage, Hon. Winifred Selina Sturt was styled as Baroness Hardinge of Penhurst on 21 July 1910.

     Charles Hardinge, 1st Baron Hardinge of Penhurst was born on 20 June 1858.1 He was the son of Charles Stewart Hardinge, 2nd Viscount Hardinge of Lahore and Kings Newton and Lady Lavinia Bingham.1 He married Hon. Winifred Selina Sturt, daughter of Henry Gerard Sturt, 1st Baron Alington of Crichel and Lady Augusta Bingham, on 17 April 1890.1 He died on 2 August 1944 at age 86.1
