     Humphrey Napier Sturt, 2nd Baron Alington of Crichel was born on 20 August 1859.2 He was the son of Henry Gerard Sturt, 1st Baron Alington of Crichel and Lady Augusta Bingham. He married Lady Feodorowna Yorke, daughter of Charles Philip Yorke, 5th Earl of Hardwicke and Lady Sophia Georgiana Robertina Wellesley, on 25 June 1883.3 He died on 30 July 1919 at age 59 at London, England.3,4 He was buried on 6 August 1919 at Moor Crichel, Wimborne, Dorset, England.4
     Humphrey Napier Sturt, 2nd Baron Alington of Crichel was educated between 1873 and 1877 at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.4 He was educated at Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Dorset between 1891 and 1904.3 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.).3 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Alington of Crichel, Dorset [U.K., 1876] on 17 February 1904.3

     Frederick Granville Dudley Ryder was born on 28 May 1905.1 He was the son of William Henry Dudley Ryder and Florence Frances Augusta Campbell.1 He married, firstly, Gillian Elynor Quennell, daughter of Charles Henry Bourne Quennell, on 11 January 1929.1 He and Gillian Elynor Quennell were divorced in 1934.1 He married, secondly, Muriel Eleanor Corby, daughter of William S. Corby, on 2 January 1939.1 He died on 14 February 1970 at age 64.1
     Frederick Granville Dudley Ryder gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the Hertfordshire Regiment, Territorial Army.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.1
